Fawcett is legendary in the field of community psychology, having developed leading methods for community skills building and capacity building to promote improved health and wellbeing. As a behavioral scientist, for over 40 years he has published seminal texts (one cited more than a thousand times), managed about 20 million USD in grants, directed one of the longest-standing university-based centers focused on community intervention, and consulted for key national and multilateral agencies.
